Big Ten Preview

Day four brings us to a preview of the Big Ten as a whole. I’ll look the two divisions and then who will make it to the Big Ten Title Game.

Let’s begin.

Legends Division

The Legends Division includes Nebraska, Northwestern, Minnesota, Iowa, Michigan and Michigan State.

I believe the winner of the division will be Nebraska. Nebraska’s hardest opponent in the non-conference schedule will be at home against UCLA. Other than that, they have some cupcakes in the non-conference. With that said, they also don’t have that hard of a Big Ten schedule. Their three hardest games in the Big Ten come in a row at the beginning of November. They play at Michigan, vs. Michigan State, and then at Penn State. I say they win two of those three games and they should be able to advance to the Big Ten Title game. They should not have more than two losses in the Big Ten.

Leaders Division

The Leaders includes Ohio State, Indiana, Illinois, Penn State, Purdue and Wisconsin.

Well in my opinion, this is the weaker division of the two and it should not be much of a contest for Ohio State. This is their division to lose. Their biggest test will come on September 28th as they will play the Wisconsin Badgers at home. Other than that, the Buckeyes should roll their way to the Big Ten Title game. But they will have to watch out for the maize and blue in the annual edition of “The Game”.

However, if they are as good as everyone thinks they are, they should have no problem with Michigan. Also, watch for Braxton Miller to be a Heisman Trophy candidate.

Big Ten Title Game

Well, hopefully it is better than last year’s game, which was won by Wisconsin with a score of 70-31 over Nebraska. I think Ohio State will be able to defeat the Cornhuskers by a score of 35-21. I think that if Ohio State wins this game they will be able to advance to the National Championship game. However, we know anything can happen in college football and who knows where the Buckeyes will end up when they win this game.
