Detroit Tigers could get closer via trade

The Detroit Tigers are looking into getting a closer in a trade, according to many sources.

I feel like this could be a good move for the team.  Trusting a young guy to close out games would be a tough thing to do for this team.

Here is what Mlive.com had to say about the situation.

“It’s unclear which teams Detroit has approached about its reported need for late-inning relief, but the team does have multiple players that could be used trade chips, including Brennan Boesch and Jhonny Peralta. Both have drawn interest from several teams this winter and could be used to lure possible targets J.J. Putz, Chris Perez or Joel Hanrahan.”

I think that all three are great ideas.  Putz is from Michigan and is a veteran who knows how to close games. Although Perez is with the Indians in the division, if the Tigers get him I believe that would be a quality pickup. Hanrahan is currently with the Pirates but throws in the upper 90’s and would be an awesome fit in the bullpen.

What do you think? Let us know either on the site, Facebook, or via Twitter.
