Pistons Still Struggling

The Detroit Pistons were thought to be an improved team this year by some people in the Detroit market. Well, it is early one but the improvement part as yet to come.

Over the weekend, the Pistons beat the Toronto Raptors on Friday, 91-90. It was tough fought game between two not so good teams. Greg Monroe lead the way with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Brandon Knight added 16 points in the victory.

Then came today. The Pistons traveled to New York to take on the Knicks. And it was almost like they didn’t show up. Carmelo Anthony scored 29 points and the Knicks cruised to a day time victory, 121-100. The Knicks shot 51.5% from the 3-point arc, making 17 of them. They shot 48.1% from the field. Former Piston Rasheed Wallace had 15 points and has been helping the Knicks out to 9-3 start.

As for the Pistons though, there has not been too much improvement. I really thought the team would be much better defensive by now with the additions the team made and with head coach  Lawrence Frank being a defensive minded coach.

It might be another long season for the Pistons but at least we will get to see two rising stars continue to impress with big-time performences.

Here is hopefully a taste of things to come.
