Well, not surprised by what has happen so far with the Pistons.
The Pistons are 0-5 to start the season, and I’m not quite sure if things will get much better any time soon. There more than a few problems that are plaguing this team. However, I know it’s early, but here are my three main problems with the team so far.
1. Their defense. Well, I should say lack there of. The Pistons are ranked last in rebounds per game with 35.2, and 28th in points allowed, allowing an average of 103.8 points per game. That will not win you any games. Head coach Lawrence Frank had this to say after last night’s loss
“Until we can establish our terms of what we’re going to do, how we’re going to play the game defensively … at the end of the day, you’ve got to try to make teams play their weaknesses as much as you can and establish a brand,” head coach Lawrence Frank said.
Well they better do that sooner or later or it’s going to be a long year.
2. Rodney Stuckey. This guy is just simply not getting the job done. He is only averaging six points per game and is shooting a 17.4 percent from the field so far. I would say trade him but Joe Dumars signed him to a long-term contract.
3. Jason Maxiell is the team’s second leading scorer. Now granted that is early but on a winning team would not be the team’s second leading scorer. Someone needs to step up as the season goes along to help on Greg Monroe and Brandon Knight.
I’ll admit this is a very young team. But for now I have not seen any growth so far. There have been a few surprises like Kyle Singler who have played well so far. But I am sorry to say Pistons fans, it will most likely be another long year for the red, white and blue.
