Christmas is upon us and so is the college bowl season. The games have been extremely exciting so far and I only expect them to keep getting better.

For over the weekend, There is one bowl game and it is Southern Miss vs. Nevada. I think that Southern Miss is going to dominate this game and should get the victory. Southern Miss beat previously undefeated Houston so I’m guessing this game should be no contest. Pick: Southern Miss by 14.

However, the big excitement surrounds the National Football League. There are many BIG games this weekend including one here locally.  The Detroit Lions have what might be their biggest game in a decade as they take on the San Diego Chargers at 4:05 pm tomorrow. If the Lions win they will clinch their first playoff appearance since 1999. The crowd will be going crazy the entire game, I know that for a fact. I feel if they can get pressure on Philip Rivers early, the Lions could take over this game. Yet, I think that it will be a very competitive game, noting what is at stake for both teams. I believe that it will come down to the last possession of the game, but I think the Lions will pull the W out. Pick: Lions by 3.

My most intriguing match-up of the weekend is the battle of New York. I think that is going to be a great hard-fought game for playoff lives. Both teams need it badly but I think that the Giants will get the win in this game. Pick: Giants by 5.
