As much as I love Christmas, I also love this time of year for sports. This weekend we have the Red Wings, the Lions, Michigan basketball, and both Michigan State football and basketball. Also, I will be making my usual national most exciting game and upset picks. Let’s begin.

The Red Wings play twice this weekend, today at Buffalo and then Sunday at Colorado. The Wings have played well as of late, winning their last six games and I expect them to win both of these games.

As for Michigan basketball, they are coming off a disappointing loss to Virginia. They look to rebound this weekend as they play Iowa State in Ann Arbor tomorrow at noon. Michigan is the better team in this matchup and I expect them to win by 10.

Michigan State is playing in the first ever Big Ten championship, as previous mentioned by Rob. I see this a very exciting game like it was the first time around and I feel like this is my national exciting game as well. It’s the Big Ten’s best offense vs the best defensive. As the old saying goes, defense wins championships. Pick: State by 3.

As for the basketball team, they are playing Nebraska-Omaha. I don’t have much to say besides a victory for MSU easily.

As for the rest of the college football world, a bonus exciting matchup will be LSU vs. Georgia.  It will determine the national championship game in a sense. It should be a good game. Pick: LSU by 6.

My upset pick of the week is Texas over Baylor. I think the Longhorns will play well in this game. Pick: Texas by 3.

In the NFL, my upset matchup is Kansas City over Chicago. I think the Bears will miss Cutler a lot in this game. Pick: KC by 4.

In the most exciting matchup I like the Sunday night game between the Saints and Lions. It is a battle of two good teams and I believe this game will determine the rest of the season for the Lions If the Lions can pull this off, they will make the playoffs. Pick: Lions by 3.
