As we start the month of November, the Detroit sporting scene is missing a team that is usually gets a lot of attention around this time, the Pistons. Although I don’t miss it everyday, I was very excited to see how the Pistons were starting to rebuild but it looks like I’m going to have to keep waiting a while.
In college sports this weekend, there is a huge game. My most exciting game of the week will be # 1 LSU vs. #2 Alabama. It is at Alabama and it will be a huge crowd. I believe the LSU Tigers will be in a great game but the tide will not be rolling on Saturday. Pick: LSU by 6.
As for the Michigan State Spartans, they are coming off a tough loss to the Nebraska Cornhuskers 24-3. They look to rebound this weekend against the Minnesota Golden Gophers. I see state responding well to the loss and I can see them winning the rest of their games this season. This one will be an easy one. Pick: State by 20.
The Michigan Wolverines are coming off a convincing win over Purdue this past week at the Big House. This week they have a tough Big Ten road test at Iowa. It should be a battle because Iowa will try to shrug off the embarrassment of losing to Minnesota last week. However, I feel this game will end up with another win for the Wolverines. Pick: Michigan by 10.
My upset pick of the week is Washington over Oregon. I have a feeling that Washington will play well and put a complete game together. Pick: Washington by 5.
College basketball season is coming up and Michigan got a huge recruit this past week. He is ranked number two in the nation and his name is Mitch McGary. He is the first five recruit to go to Michigan since Daniel Horton in 2002. Congrats to U-M.
As for the Detroit Lions, they have a bye week this week. They will return to action next Sunday as they take on the Bears in Chicago.
My most exciting matchup for the NFL is Pittsburgh vs Baltimore. This is a classic matchup twice every year and the Ravens took the first meeting this season. I would make sure I watch this game cause it’s going to be a good one. Pick: Pittsburgh by 3.
My upset of the week is the New York Giants over the New England Patriots. I believe the Giants only play well in big games and I feel they will steal this game. Pick: Giants by 5.
As for the RedWings, they play the Ducks tomorrow and they need to end the losing streak. It is their first six game losing streak since 2008. They did win the Stanley Cup that year. I believe they will win on Saturday 4-2.
Another great football weekend is upon us and basketball weekends are around the corner. Have a great weekend and enjoy the sporting events. Thanks for reading!
