The Detroit sports world is different from normal around this time of year. The Lions won a Monday Night Football game to place them in a tie for first place with the Green Bay Packers. However, the Detroit Tigers are trying to keep their World Series hopes alive against the Texas Rangers in a key game four matchup today.
The first key to the game is the Tigers starting pitching. Rick Porcello will have to give the Tigers a quality effort if they want to win this game. He hasn’t pitched that bad this season against the Rangers but will need a huge start in today’s game.
Also, if the Tigers can get the bats going like they did last night, they will be in good shape heading into game five. It was nice to see Austin Jackson get three hits last night and really get the offense started.
Third, but not least, the Tigers need to make sure they hit with runners in scoring position. That was a key to the team throughout the year and strength for them. Lately, they have been struggling with that but I feel like they will come up big today when they need it most.
The weather looks gloomy but let’s hope they get this game in today.
